Commercial transparency
Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: August 17, 2026
What a paid link means
Hockey Price Hub may eventually earn a commission when a reader follows a clearly identified retailer link and completes a qualifying purchase. The retailer—not Hockey Price Hub—sets the product price and final checkout total.
Current status
The retailer and affiliate layer is still being built. Mentioning a brand, product or store does not mean that we have an active commercial relationship with it.
Where the disclosure will appear
A general disclosure page is not enough on its own. When a page contains a paid retailer link, we will put plain language close to the relevant link, price table, recommendation or comparison. For example: “If you buy through this link, Hockey Price Hub may receive a commission.”
We will not rely on an unexplained label such as “affiliate link,” and readers should not have to search the footer to understand a commercial relationship.
Relationships we will disclose
A material relationship can be more than a sales commission. If relevant, we will also disclose sponsorships, paid placement, free or discounted products, and personal or business relationships that could affect how a reader evaluates the content.
Editorial standards do not change
Compensation will not turn a retailer statement into evidence or decide a product conclusion. Our research separates documented specifications, repeated observations, attributed preferences and editorial inference. We do not claim hands-on testing unless an article describes the test and method.
Prices and availability still change
Retailer prices, stock and shipping terms can change after we check them. Price displays will identify the market, currency, retailer and verification time. Readers should confirm the exact product and final terms at checkout.
Why we use direct language
This approach follows the visibility and plain-language guidance published by the Competition Bureau Canada and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.
